New Year’s Challenge

Welcome to THE POWER OF LESS New Year’s Challenge!

Here’s the Challenge in a nutshell: Create one new habit in 30 days, using just 10 minutes a day.

Many of us have had problems with New Year’s resolutions over the years … we’ve resolved to change our lives in one or more ways and have failed in most cases.

New Year’s Resolutions fail for two main reasons:

  1. People try to do too much, and end up running out of steam a couple weeks into it, and
  2. They don’t use effective principles to create a new habit. As a result, whatever effort they put into the resolution is wasted.

Instead, focus on changing one habit, and start small with an achievable goal. In THE POWER OF LESS New Year’s Challenge we will use the effective habit-change principles in the book, such as:

  • Committing publicly to family and friends.
  • Start small and take baby steps.
  • Figure out your triggers and be consistent.
  • Stay focused on the goal for one month until it becomes an ingrained habit.

Once a small habit is firmly ingrained in your life, you can build on it to reach a heftier goal.
